Working with the local community to develop aesthetically pleasing, functional, accessible and edible landscapes in Hills villages.

Through our work on the Ridge Project we discovered many schools, community organisations and businesses that were passionate about the value of good food choices and gardening.  This feedback has led to our current project where we are excited to be working with the local community to implement their ideas for Edible Villages in the Hills.

Sassafras has been identified as the ‘pilot’ village for this project and we are working at creating momentum to establish a strong volunteer-based team to assist with implementing the project in Sassafras.

We are grateful to the Yarra Ranges Council who through Community and Partnership Grants have provided funding for this project.

We are commencing our Hills Edible Villages Project in Kallista with a Community Consultation process.

We would love to hear your ideas and suggestions on what types of projects and activities you feel the community might like to undertake.

Although the focus is on Kallista all local residents of the Dandenong Ranges are welcome to complete this survey.  It should take less than 5 minutes to complete. Please feel free to share the link around to any friends or post on relevant pages.

You can find the survey here

Many thanks for supporting our community initiative in this way. Your time and feedback is much appreciated.

We will also be frequenting the next Seed of Life Market, Kallista Market and running a Community Consultation evening in the next month so watch this space to stay tuned on how you can continue to connect into this project.
